How to ship an order in Magento
- From Magento Admin panel to Sales→Orders
- View order
- On top right click "Ship"
Once you have issued an invoice for your order you will need to ship it to your customer – it’s the last step in ordering process and the most exciting one for you and your customers.
The procedure in Magento is quite similar to the process of invoicing an order, and it proved to be an easy task.
Once again, we will start from Magento Admin Panel from where you should navigate to Sales and when the dropdown menu appears, you should choose Orders.
From there, note the first order that has the status “processing”.
That is the order that we have already invoiced, and now we should create shipping for.
You can see the shipping and billing address, and you should note at this point that Magento offers setting up different addresses for shipping and billing purposes.
You can now, once more, inspect quantities and information about items purchased by clicking on the View link.
Now, if you scroll to the bottom of the page you will be able to see the grand total with shipping costs if there are any costs included.
After you make sure that all is okay with the order, scroll to the top of your screen and notice orange buttons in the upper right corner.
At this point you should have options to Send Email, issue Credit Memo, put it on Hold or Ship the order.
It will give you an overview of your order.

At that point you will have the option to Add a tracking number to your order or change the quantity of Items to ship.
If everything is just as you want it to be, go to the bottom of the page and click on the Submit Shipment orange button.
Success page will show up and inform you that you have successfully created your shipment.
Your order’s status will automatically change from “processing” to “complete“.
