How to send newsletters to customers in Magento

  1. From Magento Admin panel to Newsletter→Newsletter Templates
  2. On top right click "Queue Newsletter"
  3. Set up date
  4. Choose Subscribers
  5. On top right click "Save Newsletter"

Creating newsletters and subscribing your customers to newsletters is just one part of the process when it comes to communication with your buyers.

Even after creating and subscribing customers to newsletters, they still haven’t received the actual email with information about event/special offer/spectacle/Christmas discount.

So, in this tutorial, we will show you how to actually send a newsletter to your subscribers.

Note that there are, as always, a couple of ways to start this process from Magento Admin Panel.

One would be navigating to Newsletter and then choosing Queue Newsletter.

Second would be navigating to Newsletter and then choosing Newsletter Templates.

In our tutorial we used the second method, but please note at this point that, no matter which step combination you choose, it will get you to set up your newsletter and prepare it for sending.

This should be your starting point:

Newsletter menu item in Magento

You will see an overview of all your newsletter templates – template name, date when the template was added, its subject and its sender.

In the end, on the right side, you can choose preferred action for your template.

Screen looks like this:

As you can see, we have the option to queue a newsletter or to preview it.

We chose the first option, and now we have to move on and start adding queue information.

You will see the following options:

Setting up time and date for newsletter queue

Now, you will have to determine the date when your newsletter will be sent by clicking on a small calendar icon.

Then, simply, mark the date and note that you can also set up the time.

Talking about time, you should remember that deciding when to send your newsletter is as crucial as the content of your newsletter.

Your store is available to everyone and everywhere and you probably have buyers from all over the globe, so make sure you think twice before determining when you will send it.

Also, have in mind that Magento allows you to own multiple stores.

That’s why it’s important to decide whom you are sending your newsletter to.

You can make a selection by choosing a group of subscribers – take a look at the screenshot:

If you need to make additional adjustments this is the right time to do it, because once you save it the newsletter will be sent on the date and time that you have previously indicated.

If you can’t wait to reach out to your subscribers, go ahead and locate orange Save Newsletter button in the upper-right part of the screen and click.

Now you know how to create, edit and send a newsletter in Magento.

The only thing left to “worry” about is creating valuable content, deciding when and to whom to send it and getting more and more subscribers!

Good luck!
