How to register new customer from Magento Admin Panel

 
  1. From Magento Admin panel to Customers→Manage Customers
  2. On top right click "Add New Customer"
  3. Fill in Account information
  4. Click "Save Customer" button

There are several ways for your customers to register for your online store – either through order process or My Account page.

But that’s not all!

As a store owner/administrator, you can also register your new customer through Admin Panel.

You can add new or edit existing customers if you navigate to Customers and choose Manage Customers from the main menu of Magento Admin Panel. (see the screenshot)

After choosing Manage Customers menu item, a screen will appear and show you an overview of all your customers.

Since we want to show you how to create new customer we will click on the orange button in the upper right corner of the screen – Add New Customer (take a closer look at the screenshot below).

Clicking on Add New Customer button will lead you to the next screen where you will need to create necessary account information and of course to generate the password.

You need to enter first and last name, date of birth, associate the customer to a website and customer group and so on.

Associating a customer to a proper Customer group is crucial since different rules are applied to different groups.

Also, you have the option to create a password, but we suggest you choose to mark the checkbox that will send the auto-generated password to a user.

Your customer will be able to easily change it later on.

Once you are done adding account information, you should start adding addresses that will be associated with your customer.

In order to do that you should choose Addresses from the menu located on the left side of the page.

Click on it and when you see new screen choose orange Add new address button.

Once you are done adding address information, click on the orange button in the upper-right part of the page that says Save Customer.

Success page will show up and you are done, now keep them coming!
