How to create customer group in Magento

  1. From Magento Customers→Customer Groups
  2. On top right click "Add Customer groups"
  3. Fill in: Group Information
  4. Click "Save Customer Group" button

Having an online store requires constant communication and interaction with your customers.

But what if you expand your business and start collaborating extensively with new associates?

It can be a company or an entrepreneur, or just one-time collaboration for the purpose of some event maybe.

Or perhaps, you want to offer them some sort of special condition when purchasing in your online store?

If so, this tutorial will show you how to create customer group.

As always we will start from Admin Panel and navigate to Customer and choose menu item Customer groups.

Upon choosing Customer groups item, you will be able to see the list of previously created Customer groups, together with the ones that Magento has by default.

To create a new one, you should click on Add New Customer Group button located in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Next, we have to give our customer group a Name and choose from the dropdown menu which Tax class will be valid for the purchases of those customers.

Click on Save Customer Group button in the upper-right part of the screen and you will see a success page that will inform you that your group is successfully saved.

Now you’re able to target your customers even better, as well as to give to your associate special conditions by placing them into different groups!
