Today’s topic is something that already proved to be number one priority when running an online business, the eternal question of how to increase your average order value (AOV).

Loads of methods out there are, to say the least – invasive. Of course, they can be quite good if you know how to combine different methods, if you do your research and work hard to find out what is the best option for your buyers.

That means that your research might easily lead you to believe that your customers don’t feel great about cold emails sent after they have abandoned their shopping carts, maybe they dislike pushy cross-selling or completely hate volume discounts.

They don’t need the rocking chair with their pillows.

One of the easiest ways to solve this is to simply adjust minimum order quantity for orders customers will place on your online store.

Rows below will show you step by step process on how it is done, but remember – it is up to you to discover what is the best method to increase your average order value without losing not one of your precious customers.

Setting up everything in Magento is super easy. All you have to do is log into your admin panel and navigate to System and choose Configuration.

From there, head over to Sales and under Sales, choose Minimum Order Amount.

By default, it is disabled, so make sure you click to open dropdown menu and choose Yes.

Set up preferred Minimum Amount and add a small description message. No need to write generic messages, be creative!
